Richard Bovingdon's Story
The National Three Peaks Challenge is TOUGH! This extreme challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, within 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles (37km) and the total ascent is 3064 metres (10,052ft) - twice the ascent of the Yorkshire Three Peaks, over a similar total walking distance. The total driving distance is 462 miles.
We have 30 very brave participants taking part and each team member will be raising a minimum of £300 for their chosen ‘Gift of AV’ charity. The charity I have chosen is...
Glossop Mountain Rescue Team
Providing a rescue service in the Peak District National Park. GMRT deal with incidents both on the hills and within the community of Glossopdale. We are a self-funding team of volunteers offering a vital service to those needing our help in the hills and surrounding area.
