Georgia Ironmonger's Story
I'm taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge to raise money and awareness for Nelson's Journey, a Norfolk-based charity dedicated to supporting children and young people who have experienced the death of a significant person in their life.
Every year, many children and young people face the heartbreak of losing someone close to them. Nelson's Journey provides specialist bereavement support, helping them understand and cope with their grief through counselling, therapeutic activities, one-to-one support, and residential weekends. Their work ensures that no child has to face bereavement alone.
Nelson's Journey is a charity very close to my heart after losing my mum in 2022. Grief is something that affects us all differently, and losing those closest to us can have a lasting impact. I understand how important it is to have support during life's most difficult moments. While I was fortunate to have family and friends around me, many children and young people struggle to process loss and the complex emotions that come with it.
By supporting my challenge, you'll be helping Nelson's Journey continue its vital work, providing life-changing support to bereaved children and young people across Norfolk.
💜A donation of £5 could help provide resources and activities that encourage children to express their feelings and better understand their grief.
💜 A donation of £10 could contribute towards specialist support services, helping young people develop the tools and confidence to cope with loss.
💜 A donation of £20 could help fund bereavement counselling and therapeutic programmes, ensuring more children receive the support they need when they need it most.
This event is made possible through Midwich's 'Gift of AV' initiative, with all net proceeds being donated to Nelson's Journey.
