I’ll be taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge - a demanding 24-mile circular hike through the stunning Yorkshire Dales, taking in the summits of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough. The challenge involves around 5,000ft of ascent and must be completed within 12 hours. Every mile walked will be made even more meaningful by raising funds for Dogs Trust and helping give vulnerable dogs the lives they deserve.

Dogs Trust is a charity whose work is incredibly close to my heart. I’ve always been a passionate animal lover and have always believed that animals deserve kindness, compassion and respect. Seven years ago, I adopted Winter, a former Bosnian street dog, and that moment changed my life in more ways than I could have imagined.

Seeing Winter’s journey from a dog who had experienced so much hardship to a much-loved member of our family opened my eyes to just how much animals rely on us to make compassionate choices on their behalf. It was also the moment that sparked a deeper reflection on my relationship with animals and ultimately led me to become vegan. Winter reminded me that every animal is an individual with their own personality, emotions and capacity to experience love, fear and happiness - not simply something to be used, but someone to be respected.

Since then, I’ve had two children of my own, and they’ve had the joy of growing up alongside our adopted canine family member. Watching the bond they share with Winter has been a constant reminder of the love, companionship and happiness that rescue animals can bring into our lives.

From rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned and neglected dogs, to providing veterinary care, behavioural support and helping thousands of dogs find loving forever homes every year, Dogs Trust gives so many animals the second chance they deserve. Their work ensures that dogs like Winter get the opportunity to know safety, love and belonging.

Taking on this challenge feels like a meaningful way to put my values into action - to celebrate the difference that one rescued dog can make, while helping other dogs have the chance of a brighter future. Whether you share my views on animal welfare or simply believe that every dog deserves a safe and loving home, I’d be incredibly grateful for your support.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help Dogs Trust continue its life-changing work and give more vulnerable dogs the care, protection and love they need.

Thank you so much for your generosity and support.

This event is made possible through Midwich's 'Gift of AV' initiative, with all net proceeds being donated to Dog's Trust.
